The weather is so unpredictable at the moment and it’s hard to tell if we are going to get a bikini worthy summer this year or if an umbrella will be your most used accessory! My moto is to take every sunny day as it comes and make the most of the sun when it shows it’s beautiful face. Colour is a huge must for summer and it’s no surprise that this season Marks & Spencer have launched a ton of bright & bold summer looks for 2017.

Sleeves are one of the biggest trends this summer. A statement sleeve is the key to bringing you look straight in to 2017. Bell sleeves and sleeves that stop mid arm are definitely the way to go. I’m in love with this hot pink M&S COLLECTION Tie Back Flared Sleeve Tunic Dress. The shape is gorgeously oversized with a high neck collar and tie back opening detail. Perfect for whoever’s wedding you’ve ben dreading outfit shopping for this summer!

If you’re a top and jeans kind of gal the the statement sleeve is definitely your new best friend. Pairing an of the shoulder top with statement sleeves like this Tiered Sleeve Bardot Top from M&S you will instantly transform your look. Add a pair of Pink Block Heel Mules to the equation and take your denim jeans to the next level. It’s all about pops of colour and eye-catching outfits this season. Accessories are a great way to mix things up too but try not to be too matchy matchy. Throw a bold print or bright colour in to the mix to freshen up your fashion look.
Using prints and unique detailing can really add something special to a look. We all know that florals are a trusted summer staple that we see in stores year on year. We have now started to see them creep in to winter too with dark florals being one of the biggest fashion trends for 2016.
It’s great when you find a brand that really pushes design boundaries and even better when it’s an affordable high street brand that you know you can count on when it comes to quality. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience when shopping at M&S. They are my go to when it comes to kids uniform and I can always find unique designs in their new collections. SS17 is no different!
I’m literally in love with this Floral Ruffle Sleeve Maxi Dress. The neck detailing and bardot shoulder completely changes the look from a boring floaty maxi dress to an edgy occasion outfit. It also gives that little bit of extra support for us busty ladies…..some people just don’t understand that strapless is not possible for everyone. Believe it or not, i’m actually wearing a full bra in this pic, amazing!

I have always had a bit of a quirky dress sense and used to customise shop bought clothes to look like pieces I’d seen in music videos and magazines. There’s so much more on offer in store these days and you can find funky designs all ready made for you. Making an outfit your own is so important. How you put a look together is what makes a skirt look completely different on one person than on another. I love to mix up patterns!
I’ve put this Mesh Shoulder Short Sleeve T Shirt together with one of the new M&S Collection statement pieces, a Striped Tie Waist A-Line Midi Skirt. Adding in this gorgeous super comfy pair of Red Suede Block Heel Sandals ties the outfit together nicely and each pattern/colour compliments each other instead of clashing. You can also turn this look in to an every day or work outfit. Just swap the sandals for a pair of Plain White Sneakers instead.
If you take anything away from this post I hope it’s this one simple rule, don’t be a plain Jane! Go big or go home with your fashion choices for summer and make it your own.
