Fun & Frolics in Malta

Fun & Frolics in Malta

My schedule has been so crazy lately but this trip has been planned for over a year so it was something I was really looking forward to! A bunch of us flew over to Malta last week for my beautiful sister in law, Vashi’s hen do.

There were 11 of us in total including my other sister in law Preet. This was the first time in Malta for most of us and  we were really happy that we ended up staying in a great hotel right in the middle of all the hen do action one might need 😉 We stayed at the Intercontinental Malta and I have to say it’s a really nice place. The hotel has a gorgeous spa and rooftop pool with a restaurant area. There is also a basement casino, unlike anything I have ever seen! I completely sucked obviously…..lost €40, it’s safe to say that was my first and last time gambling!

There was a whole strip right next to our hotel and this was actually the first girly holiday I have been on, where there is a strip of clubs and bars. I completely bypassed the whole clubbing holiday scene, but maybe that’s a good thing?

This outfit from Little Black Dress was my fav party dress!

Dee, the maid of honour, was super organised and had planned out each day and night so we knew where we were going and when. The first night was really hilarious, as we were handed out glow in the dark glasses which did not make anyone look good. Every pic came out like we all had droopy eye syndrome or were just plain sad. We all got given a sheet of stickers with different awards to give out over the night. Best biceps, best bum, best overall etc. Let’s just say this made the night!

Our hotel room had a lovely balcony overlooking a courtyard so it was great to sit out on if you want to get some rays without being in a public area. I loved this bikini and matching kimono from Avon, believe it or not, very tropical island esc!

We definitely did a lot of touristy type stuff on this trip and one of the highlights was travelling around the island on a ‘Hop on Hop off’ bus tour. It was quite a long journey but it’s definitely the best was to see any island. We jumped off the bus at the popular sightseeing spots and got to look out over the beautiful blue seas. We found a really nice place for dinner and the portions over in Malta are huge so we left stuffed.

We headed over to the Island of Gozo for a day trip, although it was very similar to Malta to be honest. The Maltese islands have a very mythical history and are also influenced by Arabian culture and their British conquers, hence why they drive on the left 😉

You will find some delicious little Italian style alfresco restaurants in Malta, especially along by the Marina in Selema. Try the Westin hotel for a buffet lunch like you have never seen! Selema is also where you want to head if it’s shopping you are looking for. There are tons of British brands in Malta too….bonus!

It’s really great going away with a group of girls, as you get to wear all your fab outfits and everyday you can put on your glad rags and get dolled up! I especially love eating out, so again holidays are the best for that….who wants to cook anyway?!

It’s going to be a bit calmer for me over the next few weeks I hope, but I am already looking at where to jet of to next…I’m thinking New York, where is your next holiday destination? Comment below!
