Paris In A Day

Paris In A Day

Travelling can be so tiresome but not when done in true style! I took a lovely day trip over to Paris last week to view the new AW16 collection for La Redoute. I am such a lucky girl as we travelled in business class on the Eurostar which was complete luxury! This was the first time I have been on the Eurostar and my second time in Paris. I have to say I would totally pick Eurostar over a flight anyday. Hardly any waiting time at all for check in and with the amount of food served on the train, upgrading is definitely worth it! Did I mention the free magazines?

The lovely ladies over at La Redoute gave me such a cute gift when I arrived at St Pancras including the cutest Parisian notebook! The journey was only 2.5 hours which is not bad at all. So glad the weather was also on our side as it was supposed to rain but not a drop fell and the air was really warm, such a change from the UK!

Our first stop was the press viewing and interviews with the young designers of the new seasons collection. I spoke with  Coralie Marabelle and Delphine Manivet, two of the womenswear designers. They were both really sweet girls who talked me through their favourite pieces, colours and inspirations for this season. Khaki, navy, red and white are heavily used in these pieces. Nautical and feminine Parisian themes have influenced the styles in this collection. I’m now actually really excited for next season so that I can order some of these really cute bits!

Next up we took a car over to the W hotel in Opera for the most beautiful lunch I have had in a long while. The food was so well prepared and tasted delicious. I wasn’t a big fan of french food before but I am now definitely looking forward to my next meal in Paris! The hotel was gorgeously decorated, the atmosphere and company were also great so it was such a nice treat.

Over in France La Redoute have interiors stores so it was nice to be able to go in and see the products that you can only get on line in the UK. Lots of colour and Parisian style on show here, it gave me plenty of inspo for designing my new living room in a few months. After a bit of light shopping it was time to go home and say ‘Au Revoir’ to Paris.

There was certainly lots of walking around and I was so glad to travel back in business. I arrived home quite late but travelling in style makes a huge difference. Paris is somewhere I am excited to go back to, it’s such a big city and there is lots to see. Next time I think it will have to be an overnight stay or two at least!

Have you been to Paris? Tips for next time?
