Not to rub it in or anything but I’m sitting in my hotel room in Rhodes right now. Such a huge contrast from shooting on the streets of Soho last week in the chills of a UK autumn. Sadly I have to return to the cold in less than two days so my mind is certainly already on the way home. One of the positives to the darker nights and colder days is that it’s an excuse to get a whole new wardrobe! Fresh off the fashion week vibes I have got off my bum and put a couple of looks together that I think can work well in to Autumn and even spill over in to Winter if you’ve got the heart for it! So whats the colour you are probably not wearing enough of?
I’m really excited to see all the new street style looks people will be putting together over the next few months. Having sifted through many of the A/W collections recently I know that burgundy is a sure fire win this season. Black is obvious for winter but dark florals are huge so you should probably try and get that in your wardrobe somehow too.
One of my favourite colours to wear is military green. I have literally worn my military green bomber to death…and back! Green is a really great colour for so many skin tones. It looks great on pale skins all the way through to very dark skin tones so you can’t really go wrong.
It’s nice to have a variety of styles in a colour you really like. I’ve branched out a bit and picked up this gorgeous Faux Fur Emerald Green Coat from ASOS. Freakin love it! Faux fur is a must this season and can be worn with almost anything, day or night. I love to pair it with trainers and a pair of jeans, nothing like a bit of ghetto fab. I found a really cool pair of Flower Embossed Adidas Flux trainers in white, which go great with almost anything.
Camo is still big and best worn on top rather than the bottom half. Nothing better than a camo jacket especially for a really trendy casual vibe with jeans, a t-shirt and trainers. I paired this Milk It Vintage Oversized Jacket with some simple black high waisted shorts a sheer black top and a pair of Heeled Suede Ankle Books from Kurt Geiger.
It can be hard to wear sheer if you have large boobs or a tummy thats not flat. This is easily remedied though. I’ve gone for one with patchwork over the boob area to draw attention away. There are plenty of cut out style tops with sheer material to choose from so not to worry. I have also worn a sports bra instead of a traditional bra style, so that my cleavage isn’t too much. I’m not a fan of major cleavage, not on me anyway lol!
With Christmas just round the corner i’m sure you will soon be sick of green for a while but it’s definitely a keeper for your staples collection. Plus according to colour psychology, green is the colour of nature and can make you feel balance and harmony. Now we all need a bit of that in our lives!
Which colours do you love or hate?
