A Week of Deliveroo & No Cooking

A Week of Deliveroo & No Cooking

Last week I was a very lucky girl and was treated to a week of Deliveroo & no cooking. I’ve been working on a little project with Deliveroo to see if it’s possible to eat for the week from the local restaurants without even leaving the house. Normally this isn’t possible as most of the larger chains and some of the smaller restaurants don’t offer delivery….so annoying!

I live in an area with a ton of restaurants so was really lucky to have so much to choose from. Deliveroo are now in over 100 cities and 12 countries including Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, United Arab Emirates and the UK. As long as you live in quite a built up area, you can pretty much get your dream dinner delivered 7 days a week, as long as its between 12 – 11pm. What more could a girl ask for!

I’ll admit that I’m not the healthiest of people. I tend to go through on off phases of eating well…don’t judge! The best thing for me this week was that I didn’t have to prepare any food, not one thing! It makes eating healthier so much easier.

So what was on the menu?

Take a look at my food diary for the week. I tried a good variety to see how quickly my orders arrived and also if it was still fresh when it was delivered. Some of the food was so mouth watering that I barely managed to capture the dishes on camera. I can honestly say that I didn’t have a bad meal last week. The food was delivered within 30 minutes too, which is super fast considering you usually wait up to an hour for delivery.

I was really surprised in the way that some of the food was delivered. I couldn’t quite figure out how the smoothies would come and if they would leak everywhere. Deliveroo were super careful with the food and not one bit arrived damaged or spilt. I tried everything from Jamie’s Italian to some really great Asian restaurants. I also discovered some amazing new places that I wouldn’t have normally tried. Ping pong is now my favourite restaurant and I am dreaming about the cinnamon and sugar pretzels from Mr Pretzal. Believe it or not I had never had a pretzel before last week.

For some reason I had a lot of visitors last week too, I wonder if it had something to do with all the food that was delivered?!

So which restaurant do you wish offered delivery?

What a great experience! Sounds fab and looks delicious! But I personally prefer to cook food even if it’s a salad, by myself, because I’m a vegan and have my own preferences. And well, I’m not ready to overpay for the dish coz it’s marked as vegan. I adore freshly cooked food, but for those, who don’t wanna cook at home or go out, I think, this is a great idea.
