How To Make The Perfect Summer Coffee

How To Make The Perfect Summer Coffee

So I have had such a busy summer this year, the kids are home and Matt is working the whole of August so I am rushing around on days out trying to keep these kids entertained whilst also working at the same time….Thank god it’s hot right now because the last thing I want to deal with is rain and grumpy kids. This is when the trampoline we bought a couple of months ago starts to earn it’s keep and I actually get to sit down and do some work.

The biggest dilemma at the moment for me is what to do when there is not enough time in the day but you can’t go without your daily fix of the good stuff? As much as a nice coffee is the be all and end all to tons of people across the world, it can be hard to drink on a scorching summers day especially when you are busy.

Obviously coffee has huge energy boosting properties and is still a must have in the morning in order to even get out the house on time.

Here are 5 fun facts I bet you didn’t know about coffee!

  1. Decaf is not caffeine free

2. Caffeine reaches your blood and starts working within 10 mins

3. Energy drinks contain more caffeine than coffee

4. Coffee is the 2nd most traded commodity on Earth!

5. Coffee was the first food to be freeze dried

If you can’t take the heat during the summer months and just don’t have enough time to blend up a smoothie then I have the perfect solution for you! I’m a froth and sprinkles kind of gal myself but am also a huge fan of iced alternatives and it’s actually way easier to make and iced coffee than you think. It also takes half the time of making an iced tea.

Here is a super quick recipe for a super yummy, refreshing and energising iced coffee. Adjust the amount of coffee to your own tastes.

Lavazza Instant Iced Coffee

2 teaspoons of Lavazza Prontissimo instant coffee

 Large splash of milk

Hot (not boiling) water

1 handfull of ice

A sprinkle of cinnamon

1 spoon of sugar

Simply make your usual coffee with sugar then throw it in a glass over crushed ice. Add the cinnamon and stir well. You can even put the ice in a plastic bag and bash against a hard surface for less mess and no washing up…bonus! Extras like whipped cream and candy or chocolate sprinkles can also turn your drink in to a nice treat 🙂

Lavazza is a premium coffee so even the instant stuff tastes amazing. We all know Italians are the godfathers of coffee and Lavazza is straight from the land of pasta and olive oil itself. The Prontissimo instant coffee is made form 100% Arabica beans and comes in two strengths so you can make your iced or regular coffee as strong as you like it. Grab your Lavazza Prontissimo from your local supermarket or order online here….quick before the summer is over…nooooo!
